Korn embrace the future on The Path of Totality, their tenth full-length studio album and second for Roadrunner Records.

Korn: The Paradigm Shift (CD/DVD Deluxe)

Infusing dubstep anarchy into their signature sound, the legendary quartet stand on the cusp of a musical revolution for both hard rock and electronica. Korn are no strangers to revolution or innovation though. In fact, they've been purveyors of heavy music's

Korn (stylized as KoЯn) is an American nu metal band from Bakersfield, California, formed in 1993.[3][4][5] The band's current lineup includes five members: Jonathan Davis, James "Munky" Shaffer, Brian "Head" Welch, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, and Ray Luzier.[6] Korn was originally formed by three of the members of the band L.A.P.D.

Korn released their first demo album, Neidermayer's Mind, in 1993.[7] The band later went on to release their self-titled debut album in 1994, followed by Life Is Peachy in 1996. The band experienced mainstream success with Follow the Leader(1998) and Issues (1999), both of which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.[8] The band's mainstream success continued with Untouchables (2002) and Take a Look in the Mirror (2003).

A compilation album, Greatest Hits Vol. 1, was released in 2004, spanning a decade of singles and concluding the band's recording contract with Immortal Records and Epic Records. They signed to Virgin Records, releasing See You on the Other Side in 2005, and an untitled album in 2007. Korn's other recent albums, Korn III: Remember Who You Are (2010) and The Path of Totality (2011), were released via Roadrunner Records, with the latest album The Paradigm Shift (2013) being released via Prospect Park and Caroline Records.

Korn has sold around 35 million copies worldwide.[9][10] Eleven of the band's official releases have peaked in the top ten of the Billboard 200, eight of which have peaked in the top five.[8] Eight official releases are certified Platinum or Multi-Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and one is certified Gold.[11] Korn has released seven video albums and thirty-nine music videos. The band has released forty-one singles, twenty-eight of which have charted.[12][13][14][15][16] Korn has earned two Grammy Awards out of seven nominations.[17][18] The band has received two MTV Video Music Awards from eleven nominations.[19]

Tour Hits Florida, Nashville, Atlanta, DC, Philly, NY and more…
Playing Sunshine Music Festival in addition to several shows with Jamband Legends - moe.

(Los Angeles, CA) One of the most talented groups of musicians currently playing together -
THE RINGERS, featuring Jimmy Herring, Wayne Krantz, Michael Landau, Keith Carlock and Etienne Mbappe, first debuted in early 2013 for a very exclusive tour on the east coast.  The tour proved quite fulfilling for the iconic five-some, bringing together their varied backgrounds of Rock, Funk, Jazz, Blues and African styles.

Now, this group of super-talent will once again hit the road; celebrating the New Year with a U.S. tour.  Starting on January 18thThe Ringers will make two special appearances at the Sunshine Music & Blues Festivals in Florida and among other performances, will join American jam-band, moe, as Special Guests on a select number of dates (see below for itinerary details).  On all other dates, support for shows will be Oli Brown, who will be in the studio with Anders Osborne this February.  In addition, the band has also announced that it will allow audiences to record the live show as long as the venue permits.

The Ringers line-up will temporarily alter this time around as drummer, Keith Carlock, will be staying close to home, with his expectant wife.  Dynamic musician, drummer, Gary Novak, will take his place for these tour dates.

The original concept behind The Ringers was to bring five guys together, not to just perform as a super-group, but to work “as a unifying artistic force, one where people put music ahead of their egos to collectively create great music.”   These five veteran musicians will perform together on new Ringers material written exclusively for this band, as well as each individual’s solo material, covers tunes chosen by the players and brand new tunes each artist will debut for the live audience. The Ringers are also planning to record an album of originals, for release in 2014.

Jimmy Herring, as the founding member of The Aquarium Rescue Unit, Project Z and Jazz is Dead, in addition to playing with everyone from The Allman Brothers Band, The Grateful Dead to Phil Lesh and Friends, and Béla Fleck, has made his indelible impact on the music world. He currently serves as the lead guitarist for the very popular American Band, Widespread Panic and released his second solo album, Subject To Change Without Notice, last year.

Wayne Krantz released his tenth album, Howie 61, last year to glowing critical praise.  Krantz has played with Randy Brecker, Leni Stern and Steely Dan, among others.  Through a succession of highly lauded solo recordings, Krantz has continuously evolved as an artist - pushing himself in new and exciting directions. Revered for his forward-thinking approach to improvisation (brilliantly documented in his 2004 book An Improviser’s OS), Krantz has fearlessly branched into new areas, while consistently skirting the edges of jazz, rock and fusion.

Musician and composer, Michael Landau, is a prolific session guitarist and performer who has played on hundreds of records since the 1980s, some session highlights include:  Pink Floyd, Miles Davis, B.B. King, Ray Charles, Joni Mitchell and James Taylor. He has toured with Robben Ford, the Steve Gadd Band, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell and his own project The Michael Landau Group.  With many recordings under his name, the latest being ‘Organic Instrumentals’, his music flows intensely ranging from spooky ballads with beautiful improvisation to intense Rock ‘n’ Roll with vocals.

Bass player, Etienne Mbappe, is best known for his years with the Zawinul Syndicate.  In the 80’s he was the masterpiece of the jazz fusion band Ultramarine which incorporated jazz with elements of African and Caribbean influences.  He also played with Ray Charles on his last album and is currently a member of John McLaughlin’s 4th Dimension.

Gary Novak, an amazing drummer, began his career at the young age of 10, playing in his famous pianist father’s (Larry Novak) trio in Chicago.  Novak has recorded and/or toured with such musical luminaries as Chick Corea, Alanis Morrisette, Allan Holdsworth, Andrew WK, Michael McDonald, Natalie Cole, David Sanborn, George Benson and Anita Baker along with many more.

Lalle Larsson: mega news update - lots of new music on the way

Lalle Larsson
Lalle Larsson
Howdy folks!
Hope you are all having a great 2014 so far!
Last year was a real challenge for me but the future is looking good.
Musically 2014 might be the best year for me in a long time.
Two new solo-albums will be released and I will also premier my Electric Fusion Trio at Progressive Circus in my hometown in April. That will be fun to do my own thing.

Here are some music updates for those who are interested.
January:
- The great sounding Karmakanic "Live In the US" double CD is released on the 15th of January. This is my own personal favourite Karmakanic recording so far (Feat: Edman, Reingold, Ågren, Jonsson, Erikson)
Great sound, great performances. Highly recommended!
- US-tour with Arrival - The Music of ABBA show (Leaving on Wednesday).

February:
Mixing of my solo album featuring Hallebeek & Reingold.
Recording of new Karmakanic studio album.
What I´ve heard it sounds epic. Great work by Reingold.

March-April:
- US-tour with Arrival.
Lalle Larsson Electric Trio at Progressive Circus Festival

May:
European tour with Karmakanic & Tangent

June/July/August:
US-summer tours with Arrival.

More to come!
From the bottom of my heart, thanks for the support over the years, family, friends, music lovers!
Fun times!

Peace & love,
Lalle
Karmakanic Live in the US

New year, new music!
2014:
Two solo-albums on the way.
Karmakanic double live album to be released in January.
New Karmakanic studio album in the works.

Premier for "Lalle Larsson Electric Trio" at Progressive Circus in my hometown.

For those of you who missed some of last years recordings I can highly recommend the excellent RHP II - guitar virtuoso Richard Hallebeek´s new album featuring Greg Howe, Guthrie Govan, Randy Brecker, Sebastiaan Cornelissen, Frans Vollink and a bunch of other great musicians. I´m playing all the keys.

I wrote a tune called "Speed City Blues" that ended up on the album featuring Hallebeek and guitarist Kiko Loureiro (Angra).

I also did a piano arrangement for Thrash metal band Darkane´s latest album Sinister Supremacy. Highly recommended for metal fans.

More coming up in 2014!

Zakk Wylde: Black Label Society’ brand new album - Catacombs of the Black Vatican

Zakk Wylde has today announced that a brand new BLACK LABEL SOCIETY studio album "Catacombs of the Black Vatican" will be released in Europe on April 7th 2014 via Mascot Label Group.

Mascot Label Group are honoured to welcome the band to the label, having recently signed BLS exclusively for European territory. The band will join, amongst others, Joe Bonamassa, Volbeat, Gov't Mule, Beth Hart, Vandenberg’s MoonKings, Black Country Communion and Kenny Wayne Shepherd on the Rotterdam-based record company's roster.

"Catacombs of the Black Vatican" is Black Label Society’s first new studio album since 2009’s "The Order of the Black", which debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

Since their late nineties inception, Black Label Society, formed by guitar legend Zakk Wylde, has been at the forefront of their genre. Their taste for hard riffs and blazing solos has resulted in a slew of hugely successful albums and a reputation as one of the most powerful live bands of their generation.

Zakk Wylde, who has been called one of the true guitar heroes in modern history, served as Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist for over 20 years, in addition to his work with BLS. This collaboration led to a string of multi-platinum albums, including Osbourne’s biggest selling "No More Tears," for which Wylde wrote all the music.

Bestowed with such accolades as "Metal Guru" from the recently held Classic Rock awards in the UK, "Golden God” by Metal Hammer and the “Best Guitarist” Award from Revolver Magazine, Wylde has proven time and time again that his songwriting, guitar prowess, and on-stage persona, along with his larger-than-life personality, have made him a force to be reckoned with.

Ily Mark

Ily Mark was exposed to the arts(Music, Painting, Theater) during his younger years and received the "Artist of the Year" award when he graduated in middle school. He finished with a Fine Arts degree in Industrial Design and now he is a Creative Director in media (Music, Design Strategy, Video) productions. He is also a sessionist (guitarist, percussionist, vocals, arranging, composing, recording, mixing, music director and producer) for different artist/bands/indie/local record labels in Singapore, New Zealand, Australia and in the Philippines.

Ily Mark performed in concerts and won competitions in Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, and China when he was with the Manila Chamber Singers(2004-2007). With these experiences, Ily Mark's art is always served in a creative special way. It can be heard and seen in his music and during his performances.

One of his goals is to continue to build and inspire people using the various tools made available through the arts hoping that it will make a mark that would last a lifetime.

How long did it take you to record the album?

7-8 months. Since I record at my home studio, there were breaks and the timing for the tracking and mixing were flexible.

How did you know when you had finished the album?

By completing the songs that fits the overall concept/theme and objective of the album. It was a dream 2 years ago and I have recorded conceptual tracks since then until recording. October 2012 was the commencement of tracking and was then it was finished and released online on May 2013.

How do you know when a track is finished?

When the overall sound felt right. Before the actual tracking phase, I already had 12 songs in line. But during the process I omitted (but did not throw away) 5 tracks and added 2 new tracks in the end. It's a process (writing from the concept to the final track) that I really love and I had fun doing.

How do you decide what is going into a track and how do you name it?

I somehow have a picture of how the album would sound like by coming up with a theme and concept. I approached a track as if I was making a sound track for a movie.

With that in mind, wanna make sure that the atmosphere that is being released through the songs fits the theme and the title. The album has a story line, the tracks/songs has a story behind it.

Making sure the tracks help out ushering the listener from the start of the journey to finish(hopefully they get it). The process of making a track sometimes starts off with a riff, chord pattern, a melodic line, lyric line, a theme in mind, drum pattern, rhythmic patterns and sometimes I record my voice beatboxing trying to dictate the sound ideas of what I have in mind.

What equipment did you use in the studio?

I use logic pro, IR Cabs, Amplitube, Steven Slate Drums, M-Audio Key rig 49, Apogee one, Rode NT-1 and M-Audio microphone. Yamaha HS50 and Extreme Isolation Headphones for tracking and mixing. I used my Suhr modern, Suhr Classic strat, ColeClark FL-1AC, OLP bass as my main guitars to record. I have guest bassists who recorded for some tracks, they used Sadowsky, Clover Apeiron, Ken Smith BSR5GN and an Avalon U5.

How did you record the drums for the album?

50 percent of the drum tracks I created using my M-audio Key Rig using Steven Slate Drums platinum as my plugin. I first recorded the kick and snare, then the hi hats, cymbals, ride and lastly, the fill ins. For the rest of the tracks, I got friends (real drummers) who played in the album.

Do you approach an album as though it is you meister work?

Yes, I do consider that when I do produce / make an album, I make sure I give my best and focus on just doing that even to the extent of pushing myself to the limits. I loved the process because I get to learn and explore a lot of things during this phase.

When the album is done how do you feel about it?

I'm happy and thankful I finished. Although when listening to some tracks there will always be "I should have / could have done this, or improved on this, etc." But yeah, I had to decide otherwise it could go on and on and end up not finishing. I really seek to improve on the next ones. But so far I'd say I did my best on this album.

Did you have a budget for the album?

I have a very minimal budget a lotted for my album. Most of the percentage went to the production of physical album, printing, packaging and the actual live album launch.

How did you go about your promotion strategy?

Yes I did have some strategy. Utilized social media, communities and organizations I'm involved in online and offline. Focused on marketing through design and media production. Getting the word out in all possible platforms in social networks. I did gig two to three times before the launch and used it to promote the album.

How did you decide what the album title and design would be?

The title was something that I've thought of 2 years ago and I stuck with that as my main theme.

Since my profession is in the field of fine arts - advertising, marketing and branding, it helped me cover everything that has to be done in this area.

What were your musical influences on this album?

Dimitar Nalbantov, inspired me as I like how he does his recordings and his albums, recording them at his studio by himself. Fountainhead, his stuff is so creative, I was encouraged to be true to myself in creating music. Chris Bowater and Eunice Barruel who encouraged me to release my own sound. Aside from my influences in music, these great guys pretty much inspired me to finish the album.
